And here I am, happy and hungry at the same time with the incredible saga about the Pinochet's detention in London on the 16th of October of 1998. I was in London with my Scottish flags to tell Norman Lamont, the Scottish conservative MP and a former Thatcher minister, that among Pinochet's victims were two Chileans whose ancestors were clearly from Scotland: Juan Rodrigo Macleod and María Cristina Lopez Stewart. Mr Lamont fiercely defended in Britain a bloody dictator and me, stupidly believing that Lamont was a democrat. That is the life of a British conservative politician. Margaret Thatcher tried in vain to tell the British People that in Pinochet Britain had a friend by helping this country to win a war against the military dictators in Buenos Aires. I was happy to organise in Edinburgh a symbolic vote in 1988.
